60 Years Strong – Refreshing A.J. Antunes & Co.

ER2-AJ&Antunes-1Our friends at A.J. Antunes & Co. recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. We decided to give their office the best gift possible—a design facelift. In our opinion, 60 has never looked this good.

Taking a small, local business to a thriving, international manufacturer in the span of 60 years is no small feat, but A.J. Antunes & Co. has done that and more. Not only has the company grown over the past 60 years, but it’s also grown as a family business.

As a business that’s similarly rooted in history and family, we at ER2 wanted to celebrate A.J. Antunes & Co.’s anniversary in a special way.

We both agreed that the scope of the 60-year celebration needed to be massive, so we decided to pull out all the stops. We used the full array of tools at our disposal to develop almost 1,700 square feet of materials; including vinyl adhesive, dye sublimated fabric, aluminum frames, PVC, acrylic and photo paper. In the end, we helped to redesign conference rooms, hallways, their front lobby, museum area and their warehouse.

Given the variety of materials needed for completing this project, we felt it was best to complete the project in stages, providing the client with flexibility in the planning and overall budget. We worked to distill the overall design’s complex ideas down to their most basic parts. In doing this, we were able to more efficiently overcome the enormity of the project for the client.

A.J. Antunes & Co. found our knowledge extremely helpful throughout the entire process. “ER2 was really able to capture our ideas and bring them to life,” said Marketing Generalist Briar Picchietti. “They took the time to understand our brand, culture and history. The finished product shows that.”

ER2-AJ&Antunes-3The final product featured the company’s logo, history and equipment history illustrated through a 300-photo collage, employee quotes and photos, and a culture specific word map.

Summarizing 60 years of company history was no small order. The most challenging aspect of this project was coordinating the solution, printing and installation of the 300 small frames that showcased the A.J. Antunes & Co. story and equipment history. Our seamless partnership with A.J. Antunes & Co throughout this project made it all possible. In the end, we were as thrilled with the final product as they were.

Not only did we get to learn more about the people and history of A.J. Antunes & Co., but we also got to bring those stories to larger-than-life.
