ER2 at the NFL Draft: Our Bud Light Install

In April 2016, Chicago played host to the NFL Draft. And once again, ER2 was there to help the city transform into Draft Town and make sure fans got an authentic, memorable draft experience.

“Hey, I recognize that podium!”

The job: set up a replica NFL Draft stage at the Bud Light Tent, complete with yard line hash marks, a backdrop and a podium. Getting the details exactly right was essential, as all of it was built to feel just like the real NFL version. Fans were able to get their pictures taken on stage while posing with their team’s jersey.

The podium we built matched the one featured in the Amy Schumer/Seth Rogen Bud Light Super Bowl spot. It was built out of plywood, then filled and primed white. Our carpenter then painted certain areas “Bud” blue, and the rest of it was wrapped with an eye-catching printed wood grain. Our client got the exact podium they wanted, and fans got their true NFL Draft experience. The podium was so well received that there’s talk of Bud Light HQ in New York putting it permanently on display.

Getting the stage right.

Make no mistake: assembling Draft Town from nothing is hectic. Fortunately, this mile-a-minute environment is where ER2 really thrives. We pride ourselves on being able to handle installs in any environment, and the Bud Light Tent was no different.

Every part of the stage was contracted by ER2 Image Group. The installation went smoothly and we handled the last-minute challenges that tend to pop up during big installs such as these.

We’re Bears fans through and through, but it was a thrill to see fans from all over the country enjoy the stage and podium. To get a feel for how quickly Draft Town comes together, watch our video from Draft Town 2015.
