Lumen Optical was created with one simple mission: to create a guest-centric optical experience that people actually look forward to—from exam to product selection.
A big part of delivering this experience to guests is how the place feels upon first entering and how it feels after spending time there. Is it welcoming? Comfortable? Does it make a guest want to come back or tell a friend about it?
To help bring their vision to life, Lumen Optical turned to ER2 Image Group’s experience. Our partnership began in late December 2015, and by February 2016, the first Lumen Optical store opened for business in Kildeer, Illinois.
Planning and execution
Quick turnaround and working with numerous providers is always challenging, but we’ve been around the block and we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt. We provided several sample options to match Lumen’s vision and budget, and we worked with the architects and designers to provide solutions that suited what they had in mind.
When it came time for installation, we adorned Lumen Optical with printed custom artwork canvases, vinyl wall murals and wallpaper, magnetic printed graphics, wayfinding printed acrylic brand blocks and custom wood shelves.
A jaw-dropping success
Everyone—guests and Lumen employees alike—have one word to say about the installation and look of the space: “Wow.” z The store is filled with warm light, white brick walls, library shelves for browsing and a style bar. Upon entering, people notice the store is reminiscent of an artist’s loft, and this helps to put them at ease and lets them enjoy their experience.
Thanks to word of mouth, the VIP treatment at Lumen Optical is being shared already. “The store’s aesthetic appeal has driven a lot of interest and referrals as guests tell their friends and family to come visit,” says William Gainer, VP of Operations at Lumen Optical.
It’s not just guests who feel replenished thanks to the space. Lumen employees love coming to work in a beautiful space designed to make their guests happy—which in turn makes their jobs easier.
