Inside ER2: Personality and Hard Work Pay Off for Michelle Weber

ER2 is kind of a magnet for talented people who had no idea that a grand format career was just what they wanted. Michelle Weber is a perfect example. A semester in college studying nursing confirmed that was definitely not what she was looking for. She was paying the bills babysitting (Alan’s and Gary Jr.’s kids included) and working for a pizza place when Alan offered her a receptionist job in 2015.

“I was interested when Alan told me more about the company – especially Color Jam (a massive multimedia work of art situated at the intersection of State and Adams in downtown Chicago) and I thought it would be great to learn more about the business.”

Finding Her Niche

A natural people person, Michelle was the perfect choice to act as our first impression when visitors walked through the door. She happily crushed any task thrown her way, including purchasing. It wasn’t long before she was promoted to Account Executive with a side of Purchasing. A multi-tasker, Michelle’s duties include taking customer orders as well as purchasing materials, monitoring stock levels and placing inventory orders.

Michelle is proud of working hard and pushing myself. Deep down, she says, something told her that she wanted to go into sales. The hard work paid off and she was ready when the time came for her next step.

Building Her Contribution

“I couldn’t be happier with the transition,” she said. “I enjoy connecting with the customers and accepting additional challenges.” Michelle loves learning more about the services we offer and our wide range of capabilities. Since every job at ER2 is something different, she basically has the opportunity to do so on a daily basis.

Some projects she handles independently, but working with people in different departments is a favorite part of her job. “Everyone has their own area of expertise and bringing them all together is what makes the project a success. Once the assignment is actually completed, it’s amazing to see what we can accomplish!”

Enjoying Her Free Time

Michelle is crazy in love (with dogs). She has two, but would own more if she could. With her pups, and her responsibilities as a new homeowner, she doesn’t have much time for travel, but when she does, her first choice of destination is someplace warm. Being born in Massachusetts might have something to do with that. “Even though I tell my Mom I wished we would have moved to a sunshine state when I was younger, I’m glad we stayed because I am so thankful for the Schellerer family and the opportunities that I have here at ER2.”
