Education: Graduate school for project management

I live to work and that’s just the way I’m wired.

I went to graduate school for project management, so I definitely have the mindset to serve as the ultimate communicator between the client and all of our departments here at ER2 Image Group, from design to fabrication. When you’re on-site as much as I am for surveys and walkthroughs, you’ve got a front-row view to ensure how smoothly things are going during installation.

New challenges will always arise during a project, but I genuinely believe that’s an opportunity for us to shine at ER2.

For example, I can think of one client in which we had a very short lead time. Our team had to figure out how to construct a variety of custom elements as well as accommodate several last-minute additions. That project touched almost every department in the company. But you know what? We rose to the occasion and got everything done on time, beautifully. The client thanked us profusely and said we have the best installers in the industry. It doesn’t get any better than that.

You must take pride in every project, not just the big ones.

After all, you never know who will be viewing your work. This reminds me of a signage job that wasn’t the largest in scope we’ve ever done, but a lot of important eyes were going to be on it nonetheless. It was at Denver International Airport and called for removing, painting and installing new signage, which we did – just in time for some high-profile executives to do a walkthrough at the airport the next day.

“The signs look FANTASTIC!!!!!”

The work we do isn’t always easy. But when it leads to the client writing you like this and using a lot of exclamation points to describe how pleased they are, hey – that’s what it’s all about.
